General Information and Travel Advice about Marrakech, Morocco.

Marrakech is located at the same distance from the Atlantic Ocean to the Sahara desert. In this section you will be able to find out more information about travel advice, information, etc.

Marrakesh is located at N 31º 37 W 7º 36, and is 490m above sea level. The Berbers call it "Temrakesh" and the Arabs call it "Merrakesh-el-Hamra" (which means; Marrakesh, the red one).

To give you an exact idea, Marrakech is located 598km from Tánger, 467km from Meknés, 483km from Fez, 176km from Essaouira and 321km from Rabat.

In more general terms, Marrakech is an inland city, located more or less in the center the west of the country, 180km from the Atlantic coast. It stretches east to the Great Atlas mountain range and Southeast to the valley of Ourika.
